Hyacinth Schukis  works from the starting point of their body and desires to explore classical longing, known and felt histories, queer/trans and sick symbologies, replication, and beauty. They are an artist, writer, designer, researcher, and educator. When making pictures, Hyacinth practices studio photography, self-portraiture, reenactment, appropriation, assemblage, and collecting. They hold an experimental MFA in Image/Text from Ithaca College. They hold bachelor’s degrees in Art and Art History from the Robert D. Clark Honors College at the University of Oregon. Hyacinth is from and lives in Portland, Oregon.
